I am looking to upgrade the stock on my 500 and I've been doing a ton of research. The Magpul SGA stock seems to be the universal recommendation and I understand why (great adjustability), cheek weld is perfect for optics and the build quality is excellent. The Mesa Tactical SureShell carrier stock is another option if you want to keep spare shells on the gun. For something more traditional, the Hogue Overmolded stock is comfortable and really cuts down felt recoil. What are you guys running and how has it held up in the field?

Last season I swapped to a Magpul stock and it handled plenty of range time without any issues. The adjustable length actually made more of a difference than I expected.

Magpul SGA is the “set it and forget it” option, Hogue’s comfy, Mesa’s tactical but I believe your shoulder decides the winner.

I’ve been running the Magpul SGA on mine for three years now. It’s taken a beating in duck blinds and still goes strong. I like the adjustability when switching between summer clothes and heavy jackets. Never felt the need for shell carriers on the stock since I just use a sidesaddle.
