Thinking about a Mossberg semi-auto

If you own a 930 or 940, how has reliability been and what ammo does it like? Any break-in tips for new owners?

My 940 has been rock solid. It runs best on 1⅛oz loads and I clean it well and shoot a few hundred rounds first

I got a 940 and it has been 10/10 so far. for ammo, it seems to get along with 1-1/8 oz loads at 1200 FPS or higher.
If you try to run the super light 7/8 oz stuff right out of the box, you might get some stubborn cycles.

try to spend your first afternoon at the range with some 3 inch magnums just to let the parts marry up. After that, it should eat almost anything

940’s been a tank for me, run a few hotter loads first and keep it clean.
