For anyone eyeing the 930 SPX for 3-Gun competition, I've been running mine in local matches for two seasons now and I've got good news: it works! The extended magazine tube gets you to 9+1 with 2-3/4" shells, the ghost ring sights are solid and the Picatinny rail on top lets you mount whatever optic you want. I've got a Vortex Sparc AR on mine. The only reliability tip I'd give is to run at least 500 rounds of quality ammo through it before a match. It needs a break-in period, which is pretty common with gas-operated semi-auto shotguns...

If it runs 9+1 and eats 500 break-in rounds, it’s basically begging for steel.

I’ve seen a few guys around here using the 930 SPX. Once they’re broken in, they run really well. And the ammo capacity is tough to beat if you’re just getting into 3 Gun shooting.
