Mossberg SA20 jammed

my brother just bought a new Mossberg SA20 for his wife, and while the fit is perfect, the first range trip was a total bust
the salesman promised it would cycle anything, but the gun jammed on every single shot. it would fire, fail to eject the spent shell, and then try to cram a new one on top of it.

he was using standard Winchester field loads (1290 fps), but it wouldn't even cycle six rounds in a row. he didn't clean it straight out of the box, could that be the problem?

or do he just need to find a specific shell this thing actually likes? any advice would be great

That's pretty common with new SA20s
You can clean it well, lube lightly and try heavier loads for break-in.

New SA20s usually need break-in with heavier loads before they’ll reliably run lighter shells.

Yeah, just field strip, clean, and lightly lubricate the gun, focusing on the gas piston and magazine tube. and use higher velocit for the next 50-100 rounds

yeap, a lot of Turkish-made guns have gobs of grease, it's everywhere

Definitely should clean and lube, bro! hand cycle the action a couple of hundred times, then try a few heavy shells before you go back to lighter ones
