produced from 1948 to 1954 , i believe it was one of the last Mannlicher style .22 rifles Mossberg produced , they realized people were removing the forearms to lighten them up so they started producing the sporter style only

Those old Mannlicher-style .22s have a ton of charm but I can absolutely believe people got tired of hauling extra wood around all day.

yup , they were made from late 40's to mid '50s ,its coming back to me i think the M in 151 M (B) stood for Mannlicher , the (B) designation was it was a upgraded model , i think there was a (C) as well before the Mannlicher style was abandoned

the (B) received some action upgrades and a downgraded butt plate to a plastic one , this one is still in great shape , and also has the bronze colored rear sight , rare to find if i am remembering most were shipped with either peep or ramp , both would be special ordered

The M151 variants had a lot of small production differences, and those Mannlicher-stock versions definitely stand out compared to the later, more simplified configurations. Nice to have one still in that kind of condition with the original sighting setup intact.

Didn’t realize Mossberg made rimfires like that. You stumble on stuff like this and end up reading about it for ages.
